More Polynesian Cultural Center, and more to come.

Kyle knew we would love the PCC so when he got the chance to buy season passes at half price he just did it, and we have already made our money's worth and more on that magical place.
Kyle had to work and we had to find George a place to practice the piano, so lucky he is working at a church school, and every building (probably) has a piano in it.  So George found a chapel in the business building, where he could practice while Kyle taught and the rest of us went to the PCC.
On our way there that morning we stopped at Ted's Bakery, at Uncle Gawain's persistent persuasion ;)
It was a great suggestion, and the kids have wanted to go back every day since we got there.

Once we got to BYUH, it was market day, where they have a fresh food stand set up inside the student center.  It was reportedly cheap, but only by Hawaii standards, so we taste tested a few things and enjoyed the experience.

 We all tried Tahitian coconut bread and Emily loved it so much she spent her own money to get another "loaf" all to herself.

At the PCC we got to try Taro root (in poi form)it looks just like the sweet potato but isn't sweet or tasty at all.  The sweet potato is quite a treat comparably.

And these were just the fattest carrots we had ever seen so we took them home and ate them for a snack!

The first thing the kids noticed when we got to the PCC was the banana tree.  They did not know that bananas grew upside down.  Every day we are learning so much!

 The next thing we saw was this crazy looking fruit and then it started to look familiar to me.  My memory gave it arms and legs and sunglasses and I realized it was a Noni fruit.  Jan, Andy, and Brad bid a contract for a musical production for the Noni Juice company a long time ago.  Brad created a cartoon Noni, that looked much friendlier than this guy.  They also smell as bad as they look.
We learned to hula from these guys at the Hawaiian Islands demonstration.  We thought we were pretty good.  Then we went to Tahiti and this cute girl taught us how to do the Tahitian dance which was much faster.

We also learned the Maori stick game and this island girl sang the loveliest acapella song.  Such talent.
THEN...the moment Evan had been waiting for the whole trip was finally upon us.....SAMOA!

He has wanted to learn to climb a coconut tree.  This guy went up so fast it wasn't much of a lesson, but it was awfully exciting, until we realized there were no coconuts up that tree for him to pick.

Evan was not disappointed though.

 Kap showed him how to make fire, which he tried after the show, and accomplished!

 Evan wasn't as good as Kap...he didn't ever get flames, just lots of smoke.  Kap rubbed two sticks together and then lit the outside of a coconut on fire, it smoldered and smoldered and then all of the sudden it just burst into flames and then he set it down on the ground and stomped it out with his foot.

 He also taught Evan about coconut milk. He said if you drink all your milk, you will look like me because milk does a body good! He was a crack up.  I just wish he talked louder.

It was a really fun afternoon.  We only saw a fourth of all there was to see, but I am sure we will eventually see it all, and more than once!
