On our very first weekend back home from Hawaii we got to go North for the wedding of Ashley Shelton to Casey Bonner. My first niece and sweet friend. It was so wonderful to be in the temple together with all of my siblings. It had been a long time- probably since Brad's wedding, that we had all been in the same place at the same time. I am so glad the the temple is that important in our lives, that it is the thing that will bring us all together from near and far.
Jan made her dress, and it was phenomenal. She looked so beautiful. Casey is a lucky lucky man!

Sloan and Matty have always been special friends and they were happy to see each other again.
Even after months of only having each other to play with, day in and day out, they still like each other, and I hope and pray they always do, and years from now we can take another picture like this of them all at the temple together at their own weddings.
The reception was in Grandma and Grandpa's back yard and we were all supposed to be setting up, but someone might have yelled, "Pile on Uncle Brad" while he was resting.....they weren't the best helpers.
It ended up looking beautiful of course. All the Aunties, including Aunt Polly, helped with the treats in the downstairs kitchen, and we got to visit with all our loved ones as well.
Steve and Ash had a lovely, tear-filled dance and then Steve handed her off to Casey and cute Jenna took her place.
Jan also made her amazing wedding cake and it sat on the well just like mine did, 17 years ago. Even though it is exhausting, the backyard really is an ideal place for a wedding.
