Josh and George and Joel did the sprint tri, which is first thing in the morning. George had been doing summer and fall swim team all season, so the swim was really easy for him.
He hasn't been biking as much but this year he was tall enough to ride Kyle's really nice road bike so he kept up a good clip and smiled all the way.
Josh has been running cross country so the run was easier for him, than George.
I think his family members were trying to be helpful but in this picture it looks like they are just abusing him.
They had a ball and that is why we do it!!
George's overall time was just a hair faster than Josh's and they came in 1st and 2nd in their age groups! Somehow they were missing when their names were announced so Penny and I went up to accept their awards and pocketed their massage gift certificates before they even knew they had won them. They were happy to get their medals though- once they finally showed up. By the looks of George he was in the bathroom fixing his hair....I'm not sure where Josh was ;) !!Shayne and Sophie both raced in the beginner tri that started just after these guys finished, and they did great, considering it was a first for both of them. Then when they were finished, the littles lined up for their turn.
They had a lot of time in line before it started (so they could be first in the water and first done), which made for some craziness on their part, and Penny's.
They needed a little helmet help at the transition but then they were on their way.
They made it! They make me so proud. I love that they love to do hard things. It was a great day.
